THE ART OF WAITING
September 29, 2018, by Notes by Tine
Why do we wait? – It’s a
question that brings heaps of possible answers. Many wait because they are
hoping for a better opportunity; waiting to meet up a friend who lacks
punctuality; waiting for the right time to take action; or simply, stuck in a
bumper to bumper traffic, waiting for it to die down. Whatever may be the
reason, the act of waiting is more likely to be inevitable in some situation that
can be discouraging and confusing.
Let’s face the fact in the
midst of the waiting period, time
march by so slow and temptation can appear irrepressible to focus solely on the
process. We usually find ourselves
wondering why we have to go through a stagnant phase and desperately wanting
for a direction immediately. During this point, we easily fall into traps such
as comparing ourselves to others or being vulnerable to impatiently making decisions
in haste and forcing them to come about in our own ways, which may not be the
wisest thing to do. I know it is a struggle
to deal with all of these but I would be lying if I said that none of those I
have fell into before.
The truth of the matter is
we can spend the rest of our lives waiting for the next thing to happen but overthinking
would only make it seem taxing and groundless. I came into a realization that if
you think that you’re not moving forward in life; think of it as an opportunity
for you to maybe create and control that situation by causing something to
happen or simply being proactive in some areas where you can instead of being
inactive because of something you are waiting on. What I am saying is waiting shouldn’t have to be equal to stagnation. I believe every little thing
happens for a reason and even the most unproductive time of your life is
telling you that you are on the right path to where you are meant to be. So don’t hate the waiting process – sometimes
it takes TIME to make something BEAUTIFUL.
